Collaborate to Enhance Central Arizona's EMS: Support AEMS Today!
AEMS is a community-based, volunteer organization committed to enhancing emergency medical services (EMS) and trauma care for the Central Arizona region, encompassing Maricopa, Pinal, and Gila counties.
As a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, AEMS has been fostering collaboration among healthcare professionals, including physicians, nurses, EMTs, paramedics, and hospital administrators since 1975.
This 4-hour, in-person pediatric training combines focused classroom instruction with immersive, hands-on simulation designed to strengthen assessment, decision-making, and airway management skills in high-risk pediatric emergencies. Participants rotate through three realistic pediatric simulation scenarios, including respiratory failure, infant seizures with increased ICP, and advanced pediatric airway management using both video and traditional techniques.
Training is delivered in small cohorts (maximum 12 students per session) to ensure meaningful participation, individualized instruction, and high-quality learning experiences.
Due to the limited number of seats and the interactive nature of the simulations, participants must be committed to attending. Unfilled or unused seats directly impact the learning experience of others and limit access for additional providers.
Deadline is March 17, 2026

Changes approved Nov 2025 - Effective Jan 12th 2026.
November 17-21, 2025 is National Crash Responder Safety Week (CRSW). ADHS/BEMSTS and the Arizona TIM Coalition invites you to participate in this year's CRSW observance Every minute of every day, law enforcement, fire and rescue, emergency medical services, public works, transportation, towing, and other responders work to make roadways safe for all road users. These traffic incident responders put their lives at risk when clearing each of the nearly 7 million motor vehicle crashes that occur in the U.S. each year.
The Arizona Perinatal Trust (APT) is excited to share the findings from their Crucial Voices of Arizona project, which seeks to promote respectful maternity care across Arizona by amplifying the CDC's Hear Her campaign. In 2024-2025, The CDC Foundation awarded the Arizona Perinatal Trust (APT) to support this important work. APT conducted multiple focus groups of women, and their support people, who shared their experiences during prenatal, birth, and postpartum care. The women speaking to their communities in the videos were participants from listening sessions held across the state with women from diverse backgrounds. New social media short videos will be released each week over the next four weeks.

As previously discussed, we will be adding the PediSTAT calculator to the CAREMSG. Go live is scheduled for Monday, July 7th.
Click the button below for instructions on how to use PediSTAT integrations with the CARES Guidelines:
PediSTAT has several pharmacists that reviewed all of our guidelines to ensure correct dosing. As mentioned at the last CAREMDC meeting, the calculator identified some dosing changes that needed to be made to conform with the weight-based dosing algorithm and clear up dosing ambiguity. The guidelines still list an option to use a lower dose for patients over a certain age; however, the calculator will calculate the fixed weight-based dose. The summary of the changes is outlined below:
